A little history...

Over 1,300 women, men and kids came to Inlet, NY in 2008 and formed the world's largest floating canoe/kayak raft on an open body of water. Our 1,104 boats smashed the record previously set by the city of Cleveland, Ohio Pittsburgh, PA challenged our record in June, 2010, and is now the record holder with a count of 1,619. A group from the Quad Cities area along the Mississippi challenged the record on August 20, 2011.. they appear to have come close to a new record and we are eagerly awaiting their results. Help us return the title to Inlet!

Check your boats for invasive species!

Our economy hinges on healthy waters to draw tourists and recreationists to our pristine lakes and stream.  Invasive species such as Eurasian Watermilfoil, Spiny Water Flea, and Asian Clam hitch hike to new lakes on equipment, boats, trailers, and in bilges and bait buckets.  Once established, they out compete valuable native species for light, growing space, and food, changing the ecology of the lakes they invade.

People can help to stop the spread of invasive species:

1. Check equipment, boats, and trailers for plants, mud, and organisms and remove.
2. Drain lake water from water craft and bait buckets
3. Wash boat and equipment or let dry for 5 days
